The original question was one of light and space, “How would the mind digest a mixture of “believable” shading with gradients mimicking texture beyond our reality? The uniformity of monochrome, the repetition of shape, the stark divide between light and dark, under and over, real and imagined. The mind begins to wander and I am lost. I am Lost in seamless fragmentation. Like gazing into a rusted machine or fragile computer chip, I urge there is a satisfaction in complexity and release to be found in its inevitable fluidity. From pure abstraction I moved into exploring more concrete subjects to see how I could fragment their forms. How would my new found rendering of structure make man one evolution beyond machine? How could I represent the digital world that forged my curiosity, the aesthetic of science fiction that when I look at the world around me today feels more like an uncontrollable fact?
